Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of this website and any quote or service request you submit to My DC Movers. By using this site or requesting service, you agree to the terms below.

Quotes and estimates

Quotes provided through this website or by our office are based on the information you give us — rooms, items, access, addresses, and dates. A quote is an estimate until confirmed; final pricing depends on the actual scope of the move and is set out in your written estimate or moving agreement. Local moves are priced hourly or as a flat rate as quoted; a deposit of $99 secures your date, and that amount is applied against the final bill. If the scope changes materially from what you described, we will discuss any adjustment with you before proceeding.

Our service

My DC Movers is a a licensed, insured household-goods mover with USDOT/MC authority for interstate moves. We perform moves with our own trucks and our own crews. Your move is governed by your signed moving agreement and the bill of lading, together with applicable federal and DC regulations.

Liability and protection

Standard valuation is $0.60 per pound per article (released value), with full-value protection available for an additional charge as described in your agreement. We carry cargo coverage up to $1,000,000 per shipment. Claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing within the time limits set by your agreement and applicable law. We are not liable for items not packed by our crew, for inherent defects, or for delays caused by weather, road conditions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Storage

Goods placed in our heated, secured storage are subject to the storage terms in your agreement, including charges, access, and insurance. Stored goods remain subject to a lien for unpaid charges as permitted by law.
